I hate to sound snobby...but.
Your address does matter, especially if you have an online business.
Emails are the life blood of your internet business. You want to
hear form your clients, and you want them to hear from you.
Unfortunately in today's climate spam filters have become more and more aggressive in labeling email "spam." You may be missing out on important emails. Your leads might never see your reply to their request for information.
I'll talk about your leads and contacts email address in a minute but
first I want to talk about your own email address.
First off a lot of email address are not accepted by programs you might need to use as an online marketer.
Yahoo, Live, and many others have very aggressive filters which means traffic exchanges and safelist refuse to use them any more.
The best addresses to use are Google gmail, and ISP(Internet Service Provider) emails from major companies.
In many cases only gmail is accepted. I don't mean to be advertising for Goggle but their email system works very well.
You email address should be business like and recognizable.
If you use things like sweety23567@_____.com you will not be taken seriously
as an internet marketer.
If you have a personal domain name you can use the domain name email and have it forwarded to your ISP.
For instance I use nick@nicholasgrimshawe.com. My emails are forward to my ISP email.
Use your name, if you can, in your email address or part of it. I use grimshawe@____ for most of my emails.
You want to get name recognition on the net. The more people see your name the more they will trust you. You become familiar. You build authority. Eventually that helps you attract leads who want to sign up with you.
When you email leads try to encourage them to email you back or send a follow up email asking if they received your email and explain why...that spam filters prevent a lot of mail reaching the recipient.
Now go back and look at your email address and see if it passes the test. You don't have to live on the other side of the railroad track. These days it's just too easy to move across the street to a more up market neighborhood.
Nick Grimshawe.

The Importance of Webinar Calls
Last night I had the pleasure of being on two webinar calls: one at 5 PM my time and I at 6 PM.
The first call was with Janet Legere training on the New Rich System.
click here ==> Get Your New Rich Report if you aren't a member yet.
Each session Janet goes over what has been covered the weeks before then focuses on the next steps in the Success Guide a day by day Guide on how to advertise your business opportunity.
Every time I go on one of Janet's webinars I learn something new about how to promote my business plus I am kept on track and focused (see my video on staying focused: http://listgrowandprosper.blogspot.com/2009/10/blog-post.html).
The repetition and duplication I receive while on these calls is critical to my success online...and to yours also.
The second call was a corporate GDI call. GDI is one of your important affiliate businesses in the New Rich System. Make sure you put your GDI username in the back office of NRR. If you are not a member there is link for you in the back office or
go here: ==> GDI Sign Up Page
The corporate GDI calls usually feature a very successful affiliate member who tells about their success and how they achieved it plus news from GDI and the updates on what they are working on for their affiliates.
What I get out of both these calls is:
1. Encouragement and re-enforcement. (I can do this!)
2. Important updates in programs which I can pass on to my downline.
3. The knowledge that I am not alone, there is a whole community out there
sharing the same experiences.
4. I feel very connected to my upline and what they are doing. I feel I am part of the process, not some name on a contact list.
5. I am in communication with that community.
So next time you see the opportunity to be on a Webinar for your business
opportunity be sure to take advantage.

Building a Relationship With Your Contacts: It's the Little Things that Count
When I tell people I have built up really strong personal friendships online with people I have never meet, I get a look. Yet, it's true. I have made some really good friends through my online contacts.
To succeed in network marketing one of the most important things you need to do is establish a relationship with the person at the other end of the internet link.In order for people to follow you, or to buy from you they first need to trust you, and feel comfortable with you.
How Do You Establish That Relationship?
The first and most basic thing, (and you'll say "Nick that's so basic why even mention it) is to make sure the prospect has your contact information. Da! Yet I continue to receive email after email with no way to make personal contact with that person. I have their link to their business, I have the corporate website, but no phone number, no location, no email address no instant messenger.
I have a little text file with my contact info on it, and I copy and paste that to
everything I send out.
The contact information should include your location(mine is: Mission British Columbia Canada) an email address ( this needs to be a professional email...not like the email addresses I see like "prettyblueeyes@hopeless.com")with your name in the email address. Avoid using Yahoo and Live and the like. Gmail is an excellent option or if you are a member of GDI you get ten free email address and a domain name. You also need to include your phone number.
Don't worry you will not end up with a lot of crank calls. Finally and perhaps more important than anything else, your Yahoo or MSM messenger ID.
Now you have that in place you need to apply some persistence, consistency, and patience with your contacts.
Will everyone contact you the first time?...no, maybe not even after 7 times, maybe not even after two years of continuous emails as happened to me recently.
I received a sign up from something I had sent out on my auto responder. I made contact and actually got a reply on Yahoo. The name seemed vaguely familiar to me,so I did a search and discovered the contact was a sign up in an old program over 2 years before. They had stayed on my contact list, and received countless emails from me. But eventually we connected. We have since established a solid relationship which has proved beneficial to both of us.
What Do You Say, How Do You Get the Conversation Started?
Offer your help. Tell them if they have any questions to bet back to you.
If you are worried that you don't know enough to answer questions, tell them you
will get back to them and then go to your upline, or do some research, then get back to them. I give them a time I will get back to them as well.
It's the Little Things That Count
I watch my downline like a hawk.
If I see they made a sign up, I send them a congrats email(even if I haven't been able to establish a contact with them). In the email is again the offer to help and an encouragement for them to add me to their Instant Messenger. I send their sign-ups welcome letters and refer them back to their direct sponsor again with an offer to help if necessary.
The email doesn't have to be more than a couple of lines but you will be amazed at the power of those two lines.
I offer leads, new people especially, need leads. But I don't just sent them. They have to email me to ask for them. The moment that happens, you have established a link you can build on. I do not send a lot of leads, but I let them know they can ask for more when they need them: another reason for them to contact me again.
When you finally get that request for help. Follow up as soon as you can. then follow up to see if they got the email: Spam filters send lots of emails straight to the trash bin, or junk folder.
When you get an email from a prospect or contact asking for your opinion because they trust you... it will warm your heart and make all that effort worthwhile.
Believe me it's a good feeling.
My final words: Follow up, Follow up, Follow up.
I would really appreciate your comments.

Slow Down and Read the Emails
Internet marketing is an interesting animal. We survive in part by email, especially if a big part of your marketing is to safelists yet many of us hate email, grumble and complain about them. These negative attitudes mean that important, crucial information is being missed, that could vastly improve your own marketing.
Safelists are a prime example.
Here's how a safelist works. You subscribe to the list and agree to receive emails from other members. To sweeten the pie and make sure the emails get read you receive points for each email you read. When you have read enough emails you will have earned enough points so that you can now have your turn sending out emails. These are called credit based safelists.
They are safe because all the members agree to receive the email so you avoid the whole ugly issue of spam.
So far it all sounds fine, except for one thing... the amount of emails you need to click on to build enough credits for you to send out your own email.
This leads to a blurring of the definition of reading emails. With the magic of browser tabs you can now open a number of ads at once, thus speeding up the process of collecting points.
The process of opening and receiving points is two step. First you open the email. Inside the email is a link to click which will open the site talked about in the email and which brings about the collection of points.
I understand everyone's rush to click through to get the credits. But there is a wealth of knowledge within those emails that I think is going unnoticed.
I need to define a few other things here to get to the point. Many of the links in the emails lead you to generic, glossy sites ( generally known as landing pages) built by professionals, and replicated exactly for each member who signs up. After you've seen these replicated sites a few thousand times, they tend to get stale, at least as far as the safelist member is concerned.(Which is one reason I think every internet marketer no matter how new, needs to learn to build their own lead capture pages.)
The whole point of the exercise is to get one of those blurry eyed marketers to open up your email and find something that is interesting enough to get them to subscribe to your site.
There is a universal axiom in marketing: Know your competition. These emails and sites are a gold mine to prospected for nuggets you can use to your advantage. You might see a phrase or a way of approaching a subject that turns on a light for you.You might see a catchy subject line that sparks your creative juices. You will also find out what your competition is writing and talking about.
Another reason to read those emails is to see what another member of the website you are promoting is doing. Some of my best work comes from reading my partner's emails.
What points are they making about the site you're both promoting?
What types of approaches are they using?
What do they think is important to their target audience?
What keywords are they using?
Don't let those golden nuggets of information pass you by in your rush to earn credits. Slow down long enough to at least browse the emails, then you can spend those precious credits more wisely.

Bram Smith Get's Inside GVO to Give Us His Report
GVOCOM Explained
GVO has me really excited. So excited I forgot to feed the goldfish in my pond, so I'll send you this and run. I can hear them calling, "Nick . Nick!"
I am all ready seeing results and the site isn't even in pre-launch yet.
This letter from Bram Smith comes by way of Janet Legere one of the Net's premier instructors on how to build your own list. Bram Smith is also
a well known internet marketer.
This is what he had to say after a visit to GVO headquarters
Letter from Bram Smith:
Okay guys...
I can confirm that GVO is the most incredible company I have ever worked with ;-)
I just drove out to the GVO offices, waltzed right in and asked for Joel, and had a sit down with he and Mike (you will know Mike if you've been following Joel's blog, which you should be).
I didn't know what to expect really. I brought with me a list of questions I know that a lot of people have surrounding the GVO launch.
Joel is cautious when it comes to announcing an exact date that GVO will go into pre-launch, but I can tell you that I am more pumped than EVER about this company now.
I sat down at Joel's computer and got a sneek peak of the GVO back office, marketing tools and products. People, it ROCKS!
If the thought has even entered your mind about dropping out of GVO before we even get to prelaunch it would be a HUGE mistake.
After a tour of the facilities (with PLENTY of room for expansion), Joel, Mike and I sat down in the "green room" and I grilled him for what must have been close to an hour.
If you have ANY questions about the GVO compensation plan, the products, and why this is such an excellent opportunity, believe me -- I got them answered for you.
We even took a trip to the white board in Joel's office for a detailed explanation about the compensation plan, and boy am I excited about what I found out. Turns out there were several perks I wasn't even aware of.
Since the video turned out so long and we ended up doing it on the much nicer GVO video cam than my Flip cam, Joel agreed to have his video production guy produce the video for me.
I can't wait for you to see it because you're going to be as jazzed as I am by what you hear.
You don't know the half of it yet!
One thing I wanted you to know NOW before you even see the video is that the commission stats you see in your Kiosk back office do NOT reflect everything properly. (but they should soon)
You will receive a 50% fast start bonus your first month for each of your personal referrals. Right now that's not showing.
Here are some other KEY things about the comp plan I'm sure you will want to know...
========================
- 2x10 forced matrix (meaning people in your upline OR your downline may contribute to your overall income as they refer more and more people)
- %5 commission on EACH of the 10 levels. A full matrix is 2046 people, or over $4,500 per month if every person is on the LOWEST price-point product package -- and if you didn't refer ANY of them.
If you referred some of them, you earn 20% of what your referrals earn too (matching bonuses). This is in addition to your normal matrix commissions.
- For every 14 Titanium members in your organization, you get another position in the matrix. You can save these up in a pool and use them (position them) where you want to and WHEN you want to.
This is great, for instance, if you want to put one of these "bonus" positions directly under a heavy-hitter you refer, or if you want to use it as incentive by placing it under a friend or family member and then start building it so you build your income AND theirs, or rewarding a hard-working member in your group by placing one of your bonus positions under them.
And ah... this is KILLER. If you're really going to get cranking and promoting GVO, you will LOVE this. Each month, GVO will put 10% of company net profits into a bonus pool. I don't know that it has an official name yet, but we'll call it the heavy hitter bonus pool for now.
The TOP 20 referrers each month will share in this pool equally.
NOT the top earners, but the 20 people with the most personal referrals for that month -- so even someone BRAND NEW to the company could potentially hit on this bonus their first month.
I can't make promises about the size of this pool or what the bonus to each qualifying affiliate will be, but I can imagine it getting VERY big, VERY fast based on what I've seen already.
For an easy hypothetical example, if GVO has net profits of $1 MILLION in a month, then the bonus pool for that month is $100,000, which is split equally by 20 people who referred the most new members for the month.
That's $5K in addition to your normal fast starts, matrix commissions, and matching bonuses. If you can't tell by this email that I'm excited, just wait until you see the video.
I grilled the heck out of Joel for you. What I planned on being a quick hello and tour of the office, and a few answers to pressing questions turned into a full blown tell-all about GVO (except the future stuff Joel has up his sleeve, and believe me, although I can't talk about it -- it's exciting and will mean even MORE income to you).
I'm telling you folks... I'm pumped. If you're not, check your pulse -- there's probably something wrong with you.
Joel will send me the video as soon as it's produced, and I'll be sure to pass it on to you as soon as I can.
Start telling people about GVO now and get a serious head start before we even go into pre-launch. Now is the time!
Bram Smith
See what I mean?

========================
I felt a need to share this with all of you so that you could understand the power of GVOCOM!

Are You Keeping Score?
By Nick Grimshawe
How many new leads have you generated today? This week? This month?
Don't know the answer, then you need to find away to keep score of all your important statistics.
How do you know if your marketing is working?
How do you push to improve your results?
What are the important measurable for you?
Every business is different, and every human being is different so we have different priorities.
Let me assume for the moment that you are an internet marketer.
Key to successful internet marketing is your contact list.
Another key would be the number of leads you are generating. Leads are the life blood of your business.
How about why you are in the internet marketing business to begin with...number of quality hours spent with your family, working on your hobby, vacations. All of these things can be measured.
You can go crazy and try to measure everything, or you can select the top 5 most important areas in which you want to measure your successes.
Notice I keep saying "measure your successes". You don't want to focus on failure. For instance keeping track of the number of ad campaigns that produced no results would only discourage you. But measure the number of successful campaigns and you'll find yourself looking for ways to beat last week's target.
Keep your tracking methods simple. A sheet of graph paper for each stat would work perfectly.
I use an excel spread sheet and a bar graph to keep score. I find it easier than trying to keep track of the paper and the graph is a lot easier to update.
Here’s an example from my hit logs at GDI a site I place a lot of importance on.

The high points correspond with more intense promotion of my website. Now I have other ways to market the site but this stat keeps be focused on getting hits to the site and it looks like I am do to send out another promotion campaign to get my hits up.
See what I mean.
What you measure you treasure and that keeps you on track.
Start to measure your way to success today.

Are You Earth Friendly?
Sorry, I just couldn't resist the title. If you are serious about list building, and if you are planning to build a business on the net, then you really need to be, Janel Legere's EarthFriendlyBiz, is the most important site to join.
Why?
Janel Legere has been building lists for a long time now, but then so have many other people, the difference is Janet actually teaches list building. I've been listening to her message now, for several years and I have to say she is one of the most consistent, on message, list builders around. You can learn a lot just by jumping on the Saturday Calls. She does more live training calls than anyone.
The site itself is set up to take you step by step through a process of building your list. Each step and in many cases, each sub-step comes with clear easy to understand instructions that turn complex tasks into simple ones.
Most of the programs I use in list building can be found within the four walls of Earth Friendly. It's easy to join and you go at your own pace.
I am also available to help you out. So don't be shy, I'm a patient guy, and I can coach you through just about anything.
Take a look now, then get in contact with me.

What is Set and Forget?
I can think of a few things that are set and forget, like my wrist watch. Since I first set the time I haven't had to change it once. My alarm clock is another good example. I'm sure you can think of others.
Well in list building there are set and forget site also. They are sites that you set up with all the required information push set (figurative speaking) and you can walk away and forget about it.
It's not like a blog that requires you to come back and post again and again. Like your watch once you set it the first time, you don't have to worry about it again.
So these site you can set up walk away and forget: Well almost.
I am going to give you my two favorites now. One I have subscribed to since 2006, and the other is a recent addition. The trouble is, you can't really forget these sites because they persistently send leads to your in box.
My first recommendation is so simple you'll be amazed it works:
Triple Your List
Sign up for free, using your first and last name and your email address and bingo. Once a week or so you receive three new double opt-in leads, come rain or shine. I've received over 600 leads since I signed up, and the leads keep coming. You never have to go back to the site if you don't want to.
Lead Gusher
Is my new acquisition. Again the principle is the same but here it is important to listen to the video so you can understand:
Once you've done all that and the site is listed by the search engines, your leads will start to arrive and you can forget all about it...well except when those leads pop-up.
They are both free but I recommend the Lead Gusher upgrade if you can afford.
Now here is the important part:
Contact me if you have questions or need some help.
That's what I'm here for.
